During your stay in Roda village we suggest you try some of the local delicacies such as: pastitsada (beef or rooster with pasta in a red sauce), sofrito (meat in a wine - garlic sauce), bourdeto (fish in a spicy red sauce), savoro (fish in a sauce with rosemary, vinegar, raisins and garlic), as well as preserved fruits, mandolas and Kum-quat.Whatever you plump for don't leave without sampling an authentic moussaka (layers of vegetables and mince cooked in the oven and topped with a creamy white sauce), or a Greek souvlaki (kebab). Don't let your sweet tooth miss out either! Try baklava nut filled, paper thin layers of glazed pastry soaked in pure honey. FERRIES TO CORFU FROM MAINLAND (IGOYMENITSA) GREECE
The most common ferry crossing between the mainland and Corfu is Igoumenitsa-Corfu Town. The journey takes approx 1-½ hr and there is at least one sailing per hour between 5.15am and 10pm year round, sometimes two or three per hour in summer. The standard fare is 5.80€ (cars from 25- 30€ depending on the size) and there is never any problem finding a place aboard. Passenger-only hydrofoils run the same route several times a day in season, taking half the time but costing about twice as much. Corfu Town Port Authority Information Tel. +30 26610 32655 / 40002
